Cookie Policy

This site stores a small number of things on your device. Two are ours and necessary: the language you’re reading, and the choice you make in the cookie card. The booking calendar on one page needs a few of its own to work. Everything else is optional and runs only if you say so: Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used, and Google Ads measurement, to learn whether our ads bring people who get in touch.

You choose once, on the card that appears on your first visit: accept all, reject the non-essential, or pick per category. You can change your mind at any time from the Cookie Settings link in the footer. Every item is listed below by name.

Necessary. What the site needs to do what you asked of it: remember your language, remember your cookie choice, and keep the booking calendar working. These run without asking, because there’s nothing meaningful to refuse, and none of them is used for advertising.

Analytics. If you allow it, Google Analytics 4 sets identifiers on our address to tell visits apart and measure how the site is used.

Advertising. If you allow it, Google Ads sets identifiers on our address to work out whether an ad led to an enquiry or a booked call. We don’t use remarketing.

The fonts, the images and the code are all served from our own address, so a company other than our hosting provider sees your visit only where you’ve allowed it, and on the booking page.

The calendar on /book is embedded from Cal.com, so these are set by Cal.com rather than by us, on Cal.com’s own addresses. This list was taken by loading the page, choosing a time and opening the booking form, and reading what was actually there at each step.

These items are used by Cal.com to provide, secure and maintain the booking flow, including remembering display preferences. None is used by us for analytics or advertising, so the cookie card doesn’t govern them. The cookies last minutes, or until you close the browser; the two stored preferences stay until you clear them yourself.

Cal.com is a service we use rather than one we run. What it does with the details you enter is covered in our Privacy Policy, alongside their own terms.

On your first visit a card asks whether to allow the optional categories. It offers three things, and each is one tap: Accept, Reject, or Preferences, where Analytics and Advertising each have their own switch. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way.

Necessary items can’t be switched off from the card, because they’re what makes the page you asked for work. Your browser can still block them, at the cost of the feature they serve.

Nothing optional runs before you choose. Google Tag Manager, which runs the Google tools, is on every page, but it starts with every category denied and is told your choice through Google Consent Mode. Until you choose, and if you reject, no Google tag sets a cookie or reads an identifier; what Google receives is a cookieless signal that doesn’t identify you.

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count visitors and measure load times without cookies. They store nothing on your device and read nothing from it: a visit is recognised by a hash of the request itself, which Vercel discards after 24 hours, and what we see is aggregate. They run regardless of your choice, because there is nothing on your device to choose about.

Google Analytics 4, if you allow Analytics, tells us where visits come from, which pages get read and how people move through the site. It sets the identifiers listed below on our address; we keep its event data for 14 months.

Google Ads conversion measurement, if you allow Advertising, tells us whether a Google ad we paid for led to an enquiry or a booked call. It’s measurement only: no remarketing, no audiences, no ads following you elsewhere.

The Cookie Settings link in the footer reopens the card at any time. Withdrawing a category stops its tags, and we also expire the Google cookies they set on our address there and then, so nothing of theirs stays behind.

Your browser is in charge beyond that. Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block them (usually under Privacy or Site settings), and clearing site data for cal.com removes everything in the booking list above.

One honest warning: block cookies for cal.com and the booking calendar won’t work properly, because the items it uses are the ones that hold the form together. If you’d rather not use it at all, email us at hello@weldmeld.com or use the contact form and we’ll arrange a time by hand.

This page describes what we measured on the date shown alongside it, and we check it again whenever the measurement or the booking setup changes. Google and Cal.com may change what their tools use without telling us, so if you find something on your device from this site that isn’t listed here, please tell us at hello@weldmeld.com and we’ll check it and correct the page.
